Old Bazaar

It is also called the “Old Souk”, located on a street parallel to the southern part of the corniche. It is a lively market full of colorful merchandise and the scent of exotic spices. At the Souk one can bring “karkade tea”, made from hibiscus flowers which is a traditional drink in Aswan. The Souk is also a good place to buy souvenirs, handicraft, carpets and gold.

The inhabitants of Aswan get their daily needs from the souk. The souk serves everybody in the city, not only the tourists.

There are no set prices so a little bargaining is part of the shopping process.
