One of the main attractions that should be visited in Aswan.The Unfinished Obelisk is 42 meters in length and is probably the heaviest one ever cut in Ancient Egypt weighing nearly 1100 tons. It lies in a granite quarry in Aswan.
Work on the obelisk started during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut – 18th Dynasty, and then, after discovering severe cracks in the rocks, the obelisk was abandoned.
