Luxor Museum

It was inaugurated in 1975. Luxor Museum is renowned as one of the thoughtfully assembled displays of antiquities in Egypt. Most of the artifacts displayed at the Luxor Museum were discovered in the area of ancient Thebes (modern Luxor).

One of thone of the main features of the museum is a reconstructed wall from a temple of Akhenaten. There are also a number of objects from the controversial opening of the tomb of Tutankhamun.

The royal mummies of two pharaohs- Ahmose I and Ramesses I – were also put on display in the Luxor Museum in March 2004, as part of the new extension to the museum, which includes a small visitor centre.
